Joy Weekes Felan JOY JANE WEEKES FELAN, 65, school secretary, passed away on Sept. 26, 2026, with burial in the West End Cemetery at Stephenville, TX. Joy was born in Ranger, TX on July 24, 1961 to Joe B. (RHS-1933) & Marjorie (Moon) Weekes. She attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1979 and married Alfred "Trey" Felan III in Dec. of 1991 in Ranger. Joy was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the S.A.L.T. (Serving and Loving Together) Sunday School class. She served in the University Ministry for several years. She worked side by side & supported Trey as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Coach. Joy was a faithful servant of God who was always willing to help wherever she was needed. Joy worked for Ranger ISD for 44 years. She started out as a Kindergarten Aide. Later she moved to the Superintendent's Office where she wore many hats. Like at her church, she was always willing to lend an hand wherever it was needed. Joy did a tremendous job as a coach's wife. She always supported Trey & his athletes. She would provide snacks and even help them when they were sick. Again, she was always willing to lend a hand. Joy embodied the definition of her name because she was a joy to be around. She would always greet you with a friendly smile and a word of encouragement. Joy loved animals, but she loved people even more. If she saw someone in need she would do every- thing in her power to meet their need. She cared for her Mom and Dad as well as other elderly family members. Joy also enjoyed gardening, watching sports, playing card games and helping others. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Joy loved her Savior & Lord Jesus Christ. When she received her diagnosis, she told Trey that whatever happened it would be win-win for her. She said if she got well she would get to stay with him as well as her family and friends. She said if she didn't get well then she would get to be face to face with her Savior and Lord. Through this difficult time Joy remained faithful to God. Her infectious smile, quick wit and loving personality touched the lives of those taking care of her in the hospital. Survivors include her husband, Trey Felan of Stephenville; sister, Betty Jo Weeks Goleman (RHS-1968) of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews.
