ALTA FAYE HUCKABY GRUMBLES, 69, went
on to her Heavenly Home on Oct. 11, 2020.
Alta Faye was born Jan. 7, 1951 in Ranger, TX to
Eulon Ira & Ruby Franklin Huckaby. She attended
Ranger High School in the Class 1969/1970/1971.
In Dec. of 1987, she married A.D. Grumbles in
Ranger and he preceded her in death in Oct. of
2010. She worked in housekeeping for the Ranger
Hospital until they closed. She was member of
the First United Pentecostal Church in Ranger.
Since 2018, she has been living in an assisted
living facility in Hamilton, TX under the care
of a devoted cousin, Margaret O'Neill.
Alta Faye in preceded in death by her husband;
an infant daughter, Mary Kay Grumbles; & siblings
Eddie Huckaby (RHS-1973), Ruby Kay Huckaby (RHS-
1971), and Pete Brown.
BROTHER: HARVEY "PETE" BROWN, 57, of
Odessa & formerly of Ranger, TX died May 2, 2001
in Midland, TX, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery
in Ranger.
Mr. Brown was born on March 27, 1944 in Ranger
to James Brown & Ruby Franklin. He was a Baptist
and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of
the Odessa Lions Club. He worked in Ranger for
many years as a truck driver for H.E.F. Oil Field.
Survivors at the time of his death are three
daughter, Gwen Thompson of Odessa, Kim McCormick
of Odessa and Carla Lewis of Odessa; one son,
Larry Ray Brown of Odessa; and one sister, Alta
Faye Grumbles of Ranger.
