STEVEN ALAN CAMPBELL, 73, of Roswell, GA
passed away on May 30, 2024, surrounded by family.
Steve was born in Beaumont, TX on May 22, 1951 and
spent his youth in his beloved town of Ranger, TX.
He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1969
at Ranger, TX and achieved Eagle Scout in 1967 for
Troop 88. In 1967, he left Ranger to attend high
school at Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, AR & graduated
in 1969. Steve joined the U.S. Navy in 1971 & served
through 1975 when he was honorably discharged. He
met his wife, Sue while in the Navy. Following his
service, he attended the University of Guam where
he graduated with a Bachelor of BA in 1976.
In 1977, Steve began his career in life insurance
for Sun Financial Group in Seattle and became a
sales manager in 1979. In 1985, Steve joined The
Equitable in their Southern Operations Regional
Office. He worked for AXA/Equitable until his
retirement in 2018. He had CFP®, CHFC and CLU
designations. After retiring from full time work,
he became a consultant for AXA/Equitable until
his death. He truly enjoyed the work he did and
would help anyone who needed it.
Steve was a keen hunter. From an early age, he
developed a passion for hunting, whether it was
for local game or chasing big game in exotic
lands. He was passionate about SCUBA diving
and, as a master diver, explored many stunning
locations around the globe. His hunting and
diving adventures took him to destinations such
as southern Africa, Cuba, Bonaire and the Cayman
Islands. He loved to display taxidermy & pictures
from those outings. Steve also had a love of music
as he was one of the many who attended Woodstock
in 1969.
In July 2020, Steve gained the title of Grandpa.
His grandson was the source of great pride and
happiness. Simply talking about him would make
Steve's face light up with a smile and fill him
with delight; he was truly the sparkle in his eye.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe & Helen.
Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue
Campbell, daughter Joan Shepp (Dave), grandson
Tristan Shepp, and son Joseph Campbell (Mariann).
