Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1961

Rex Hatton REX LYNDON HATTON, 55, died in 1998, with interment in the Bullock Cemetery near Ranger, TX. He was born April 16, 1943, in Ranger to Iva Elizebeth Weathers and William Walter Hatton. Rex graduated from Ranger High School in 1961 and married Jo Ann Wortham in 1967 in Ranger. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and, for several years, the Texas Department of Transportation. He then returned to the Ranger Post Office, where he was employed for 25 years. He served in the National Guard and was a baseball coach for 20 years. Rex was a past president of the Ranger Booster Club. He was a Methodist. Rex had two sons, Ryan Hatton (RHS-1989) and Todd Hatton (RHS-1995). His brothers were Kenneth Lee Hatton (RHS-1948) Royce Hatton, John Earl Hatton, & Billy Tom Hatton. BROTHER: ROYCE DAYLE HATTON, a beloved husband & dedicated member of the Ranger, TX community, passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 89, with burial at Bullock Cemetery near Ranger. Born on June 21, 1935, to Walter & Iva Ellizabeth (Weathers) Hatton, Royce led a life filled with love for his family, a passion for farming and ranching, and a deep appreciation for horses, cattle, and sports. He married Jo Ann (Wortham) Hatton in Nov. of 1999. His commitment to family and his strong values will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Hatton of Ranger; nephew and step-son, Todd Hatton and wife, Cortnie of Jacksboro; four grandchildren, Cal Rex Hatton and Taylee Britt Hatton of Jacksboro, and Molly Cate Hatton and Mason Cole Hatton of Stephenville; a brother, Billy Tom Hatton of Ranger; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Iva Hatton; four brothers, John Earl Hatton, Kenneth Lee Hatton (RHS-1948), Maurice Hatton, & Rex Lyndon Hatton (RHS-1961); and a nephew and step-son, Ryan Scott Hatton.
