JAMES OLIVER "JIMMIE" WESTBROOK, 53,
died March 28, 1972 in Lockport, LA of a heart
attack, with burial at Valley Memorial Gardens
in McAllen, TX.
He was born on June 24, 1918 in Menard, TX to
John R. & Ruth M. Avery Westbrook being their
only child. He attended Ranger High School in
the Class of 1934 at Ranger, TX and played
football on the 1934 Champion Bulldog team. He
played football at Westmoreland College. Jimmie
fought on Iwo Jima during WWII as a U.S. Marine.
He married Nevelyn C. Moseley & they operated a
grocery store. She died in 1993. His grandson
is Jim Westbrook of Houma, LA.
