PHYLLIS DIXIE WILLIAMS ROGERS was born
on Oct. 4, 1907 in Sedelia, MO to Katherine Heath
Williams & George Turney Williams. She passed away
on May 12, 1999 at the age of 91 in El Paso, TX,
where she had resided since 1958. She was the
third child in her family with two older brothers
Richard, and Arthur & a younger sister Jean Williams
(RHS-1931) & brother Max Williams (RHS-1933).
She graduated from Ranger High School in May of 1924
at Ranger, TX & married George Morrow Rogers in 1924.
She had three daughters, Gloria Posas, Georgeanne
Chancellor and Kathy (Margaret K.) Bowen. She had
ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren
and two great-great-children. Phyllis wrote many poems
and stories as well as the music and lyrics of a hymn,
"Master Let Me Walk With Thee". In 1936, her poem
"Seasons" was published in Texas Writers of Today.
