JOHNY BOB KING, 82, passed away peacefully on
Aug. 11, 2026, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at
Ranger, TX.
Born in Ranger, TX on Aug. 31, 1943, to F.R. "Johny"
King & Opal Carter (RHS-1933) King, Johny Bob graduated
from Ranger High School in the Class of 1962. He grew
up in Ranger loving to explore the family ranch, where
he thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting. He later
moved to Mineral Wells where he worked for Mitchell
Gas as a measurement technician and later retired.
He is survived by his two daughters, Bridgett Smith
& husband Thom of Ft. Worth, and Paula Pate of Early;
grandchildren, Reid Smith & wife Kaitlin of Weatherford,
Payton Smith of Fort Worth, and Jordyn Pate of Early;
great-grandchildren, Austyn Smith and Hattie Smith both
of Weatherford; sister, Sherry King Warren (RHS-1955)
of Stephenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
